The Best of Lightroom August 13, 2012: 9am - 5pm with lunch break
After capturing images on your camera, you'll need to know how to optimize them on the computer, especially if you're shooting RAW, which
you will be encouraged to do during the festival. While Adobe Photoshop still plays a role in image editing, Adobe Lightroom has become the most important tool for the
majority of professional photographers. It is necessary to understand Lightroom if you want to properly organize your photos and take your
image processing skills to the next level. On Monday, Marc Muench
will present a seminar at the Auraria campus that provides a broad overview of Adobe Lightroom. This is an optional seminar and costs an extra $150.
It is open to anyone who registers for the festival. There is a minimum of 5 and a maximum of 48 people for this seminar.
It should be fun to open your images in a program and even more fun to sculpt them into your own personal vision. One of the best memories I have is ripping open a box filled with processed 4x5 and 2 1/4 film rolls to be edited for the first time following a long photo shoot. The anticipation is still there with digital. I normally use my camera LCD for exposure reference only, leaving all the editing and viewing fun for a dark room with my computer and Lightroom. Lightroom is a very extensive program which can not be properly taught in just one day. I will, however, share the most important ways to get to your images and have fun making them look the way you want to without destroying them.
You will learn how to :
Organize your images.
- Create and understand catalog preferences.
- Navigate within the Library and Develop modules.
- Import and export files for multiple projects and uses.
- Process certain styles within the Develop module.
- Utilize regional correction tools.
