Full payment is due with your application to reserve your spot in the festival. The amount due is $275 for Saturday & Sunday. If you want to join additional classes on weekdays, there is a separate fee for each of these. Unless a workshop is full or canceled, all payments are non-refundable. If you cancel at least two weeks prior to the start of the festival, your full payment may be applied to a future festival. If you cancel less than two weeks prior to the festival, $125 of your payment may be applied to a future festival.

What is included in the tuition?

- Admittance to all 6 presentations by the instructors on Saturday, August 13 and participation in a workshop of your choice on Sunday, August 14.

- Shared transportation to field shoots. The instructor for the workshop you join will coordinate the transportation, so please refer any questions to them.

- Autographed copy of Grant Collier's book "Colorado's San Juan Mountains."

- Discounted lodging at the Curtis Hotel, near the Auraria Campus (details will be provided after you submit your application).

- Any fees required to access the shooting locations.

- The festival program which includes information on each of the the instructors presentations on Saturday and coupons on photography products.

- For additional payments, you can also attend some or all of the classes on weekdays.

What is NOT included in the tuition?

- Lodging is not included, but you can get a discount at the Curtis Hotel.

- Transportation to the Auraria Campus.

- Meals: Unless stated otherwise in the workshop description, participants should provide their own meals, and bring snacks or meals along on the field shoots.

- Photography equipment: Participants should bring their own camera (a 35-mm single-reflex lens (SLR) digital camera is recommended, but any camera will suffice). Tripods are optional but recommended.

- Computers - The classroom sessions at the Auraria Campus will be held in a classroom with electrical outlets, so participants can bring their own laptop computers if they want but this is not a requirement unless stated in a class description.

Workshops

There is a limit of 12 people per workshop and a minimum of 4 people. If a workshop fills up, we will update this web site to reflect this ASAP. However, if you do sign up for a workshop after it is full, you will be given the option of signing up for a different workshop or getting a full refund. If fewer than four people sign up to a workshop, the instructor will have the option to cancel the workshop. If he chooses to cancel it, particpants will be able to sign up for another workshop or get a full refund.

Can someone attend two workshops?

If you want to attend two workshops on Sunday - one in the morning and one in the afternoon - this can probably be arranged. However, just one workshop can be very tiring, so two workshops might be too much for all but the most energetic people. To attend two, it will cost an extra $150 per person. You will likely have to drive yourself and perhaps leave early from the morning workshop. If you want to do this, please Contact Grant, and he will confirm with the instructors that this will work.

Non-photographer friends

Participants can not bring friends or family members who are not photographers to the classroom or field sessions unless they also pay the full fees to participate.

Weather & Adverse Conditions

If the weather is poor or there are any other factors, such as road closures, that prevent instructors from holding a field shoot at a specified location, the instructors will make their best effort to hold the workshops at an alternate location or to provide instructional sessions at an indoor or sheltered location. No refunds will be made for workshops that are altered.

Additional Information

Additional information will be sent prior to the workshop containing advice on what to bring, directions, etc.
